![]() ![]() I think that overall these palettes have generally great soft textures and pigmentation, except for the cream shades. Swatched from top left in Z pattern to bottom right. The cool iridescent purple really creases without eyeshadow primer, which I’m def not used to wearing daily. The problem with this one is that it creases on my eyes. I think this one has a lot more versatility than the Soft Cashmere, and is equally wearable on a day-to-day or professional work basis. It has a nice eggplant shade to add depth, and the lighter shades differ enough that they can help you create different looks. I really enjoy that color as the main start of the show. I really was excited about this palette because I love a good muted purple palette! There’s a really cool color that is on the bottom left corner of the palette that appears to be a purply-blue iridescent. I swatched the palette in a Z pattern starting on the top left and ending at the bottom right. However, they don’t stay on the eye very well… It’s just this really nice collection of larger sized glitters. The cream colored shade very hard to see on my swatch because it has no real base pigment. The one I love the most is the top L corner shade. The shimmers are really beautiful, with some multi colored fine glitter flecks throughout. This reminds me of a creamier version of the Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess. The one they have is seriously laking in brilliance. If you are someone who likes one shade swiped all over the lid, this palette definitely can serve that purpose! I think I could probably work harder to make a more dimensional shadow look, but I think what is lacking is a lighter shimmer shade to top things off. I usually like a little bit of definition and color contrast in my eye looks, and I found it rather difficult to achieve this. I think my overall impression of this palette is that it tends to all blend together into one color. All the shades and the finishes really looked beautiful. This, I expected to like because it was a bronzy-taupe. I have fairly oily lids to begin with, so shadow will often just melt away. I’m not an eyeshadow primer wearer, because I’m too lazy, but I think this is one that needs a solid primer to stay on all day. ![]() They definitely don’t last very well without primer. They glide and blend beautifully! My overall problem with these shadows is their lasting power. For these two paletttes, I can say that the shadows are very soft, pigmented (except for the lightest glittery shade… more on that later). And, Tutu, which is more of a purply nude. So, I got two, Soft Cashmere, which is a crowd favorite. The newer reformulated Dior 5 Couleurs that were released in September – October 2020 seemed up my alley, and honestly the colors just seemed a lot more appealing to me. Started off with the Tom Ford Quads, but then couldn’t really bare to fork over the $88. I first stumbled on these when I was wanting to try other higher end small palettes. I’ve finally had some more time to play with them and develop more thoughts about them. Hey y’all, I’m back again for another review update about the Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Quints I got in late 2020. ![]()
